Publish photos live during an event

You don't have to wait until you're home to start delivering. Upload while the event is still running and guests watching the gallery get told there's more to see — without the page yanking itself around under their thumb.

What guests see

Anyone with the gallery open sees a floating "3 new photos, tap to view" button when you add to it. Nothing moves until they tap. That matters at an event: guests are usually mid-scroll looking for themselves, and a grid that reshuffles on its own loses their place.

Guests who open the link fresh just see everything that's live, as usual.

The 60-second batch

Photos don't go live one at a time. When you upload, the batch waits about 60 seconds for you to stop adding, then publishes together. A trickle of ten photos over two minutes reaches guests as one update, not ten separate nudges.

While a batch is waiting, you'll see a banner on the gallery page:

• Wait and it publishes itself, even if you close your laptop or your phone falls asleep. The countdown isn't a timer running on your device.
• Publish now skips the wait when you want something up immediately — the shot everyone's asking about, a podium photo, the last dance.

You always see pending photos yourself. Only guests are held back.

Working with a second shooter

On a shared gallery, everyone's uploads flow into the same batch. Contributors see the countdown so they know their photos landed, but publishing early is the owner's or an editor's call. See Shoot a gallery with a teammate.

Tips for live events

• Upload from your phone between sets — see Upload from your phone.
