Upload from your phone
Updated August 11, 2026
Most of the time you'll upload finished exports from a laptop. But at an event — a game, a formal, a graduation — the photos you want up first are the ones already on your phone. Shotfolio has a mobile upload page built for exactly that.
Install Shotfolio on your phone
Open shotfolio.app in your phone's browser and add it to your home screen:
- Android / Chrome — tap the browser menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- iPhone / Safari — tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
Installed, Shotfolio opens full-screen like any other app. Nothing to download from an app store.
Send photos from your camera roll (Android)
On an Android install, Shotfolio registers itself as a share target. That means:
- Open Photos (or any gallery app) and select the shots you want.
- Tap Share, then choose Shotfolio.
- The mobile upload page opens with those photos already attached.
Pick the gallery to add them to, and tap upload. That's the whole flow — you never leave the camera roll to go find a link.
Send photos on iPhone
Safari doesn't support share targets, so on iOS you go the other direction: open Shotfolio and tap Add photos on the mobile upload page (shotfolio.app/upload/share). Save it to your home screen and it's one tap away. The upload itself works identically.
Keep the upload page bookmarked or on your home screen during an event. It skips the dashboard entirely and lands you on the picker.
Choosing where the photos go
The upload page defaults to your most recently touched gallery — mid-event, that's almost always the one you're shooting. You can also pick any other gallery from the list, or choose New gallery and name it on the spot.
Photos uploaded from your phone behave like any other upload: previews are generated, your watermark is applied if the gallery has one, and guests see them once the batch publishes.
