Collect and publish client testimonials
Updated August 11, 2026
The best moment to ask a client for a kind word is right after they've seen their photos. Shotfolio asks for you, from inside the gallery.
How guests leave one
At the bottom of every guest gallery there's a small, collapsed invitation to leave a word for the photographer. A guest opens it, types their name and a sentence or two, and sends. No account, no login.
Once someone has submitted, that gallery stops asking them on later visits — nobody gets nagged.
You decide what's published
Nothing a guest writes appears anywhere until you approve it. Go to Settings and find the Testimonials card, where each submission shows with the name, the text, and the date it came in. For each one:
- Publish — it appears on your public portfolio page.
- Remove — it's deleted. This can't be undone.
Published testimonials show below your photos on your portfolio. See Publish your portfolio page.
Getting more of them
- Send the gallery link soon after the shoot, while people are still excited about the photos.
- Mention it when you send the link: "If you're happy with these, there's a spot at the bottom of the gallery to leave a note — it really helps."
- Galleries expire. Ask before the link closes.
