Upload your first gallery

Updated July 8, 2026

A gallery (also called a collection) is where your edited photos live so clients and guests can view and download them. Uploading is drag-and-drop, and Shotfolio handles the resizing for you.

3

Drop in finished exports — Shotfolio makes the rest.

Create a collection

  1. From your dashboard, create a new gallery and give it a name your client will recognize — for example, the event or session name.
  2. Open the gallery and go to the upload screen.

Add your photos

Drag your edited, full-resolution JPEGs straight onto the upload area (or click to browse). You don't need to resize anything first:

  • Web previews are generated automatically, so galleries stay fast to load.
  • Social crops are generated too, so guests get share-ready versions.
  • Originals are kept for downloads, so clients still get the full-quality files.

Upload the edited exports you'd normally hand off — Shotfolio makes the smaller versions from them. There's no need to export multiple sizes yourself.

While it uploads

Larger galleries take a little time to process. You can keep working; photos appear in the gallery as they finish. If an upload is interrupted, just drag the remaining files in again — already-uploaded photos are skipped.

Organize (optional)

If a shoot has distinct parts — say, ceremony and reception, or different teams — you can split photos into sections so guests can filter to the part they care about.

Next steps

Once your photos are in, you're ready to get the gallery in front of people:
