Dark mode
Updated August 11, 2026
Shotfolio comes in light and dark. It follows whatever your phone or computer is set to, so if your device switches to dark in the evening, so does Shotfolio.
Switching it yourself
There's a light/dark toggle in three places, whichever screen you're on:
- The dashboard sidebar, on a laptop.
- The top bar, on a phone (the sidebar is hidden there).
- The site navigation on shotfolio.app.
Choosing a theme sticks. From then on your pick wins, even if your device later switches on its own. It's remembered on that browser, so it applies next time you open Shotfolio there.
What doesn't change
A few surfaces stay the way they are on purpose:
- Guest galleries stay light. That's the page your clients see, it carries your branding, and photos are meant to be viewed against a consistent neutral backdrop. A guest opening a QR code sees what you published, not what their phone is set to.
- QR codes keep their light background. Scanners need the quiet space around the code to read it.
- Buttons over photos keep fixed colors, since what's behind them is a photo either way.
